Elk Grove’s Very Own 🍎
Arllette Antunez, a community outreach specialist for Elk Grove’s Community Consolidated School District 59, has been nominated for the prestigious 2025 RISE Award. Known for her incredible dedication, Arllette has transformed the lives of students and families through initiatives such as the Community Cares Closet, Noche de Encanto cultural events, and the heartwarming Adopt a Byrd toy drive.
Principal Larry Ganan calls her efforts “truly remarkable,” highlighting her quick actions to support families facing unexpected challenges.
Arllette’s nomination shines a spotlight on the power of community and the profound difference one person can make.
Keep Your Head on a Swivel 🐺
It’s coyote breeding season, and that means it’s time to keep an eye out for your furry friends. The Arlington Heights Police Department is reminding residents to stay sharp, as male coyotes get more aggressive this time of year and pose a bigger risk to pets.
Quick tips: Keep pets indoors or on short leashes, check your yard before letting them out, and bring noisemakers to scare off any curious coyotes. Let’s keep everyone—two-legged and four-legged—safe this season!
